NEW HOME CONSTRUCTION NUMBERS NATIONALLY CAME IN TODAY WITH THE BEST NUMBERS IN 7 MONTHS. SO, THINGS ARE IMPROVING. INTEREST RATES ARE STAYING ABOUT THE SAME AROUND 5.5%. HOMES ON THE MARKET IN BATESVILLE NUMBER 99 AT THE END OF JUNE.
Nationally, sales of existing homes rose in June for the 3rd consecutive time, while sales of new homes rose in June by the largest percentage in 8 years. We do still have rising unemployment. We must although remember that these increases are coming off a number that was negative. So, maybe we are seeing a definite slowing of things going down and a bottom in sight.
As of this writing, the first time home buyers $8000 stimulus will expire December 1 2009. I have not heard anything as of yet about an extension. So, all people who could qualify should be looking for a home and most important get pre-qualified for a mortgage. It is free to do and definitely gives a buyer an edge when negotiating with a seller.
